Okay, so first thing's first, you want to download WinRAR or 7-Zip. I personally prefer WinRAR, I find it a lot easier to use than 7-Zip, so in this tutorial the extracting program used is WinRAR.
Click here for WinRAR download!
Once you have downloaded WinRAR and found what content you want to download, you will usually either have to download a .package file, or a .sims3pack file, sometimes-as shown in the picture below- you will have the choice. If you do have a choice, I reccomend choosing the sims3packfile as it is easier in my opinion as it does practically all of the work for you!
Before you actually download any file, click here to find out how to get the mod folder that you will later need.
I'll only go over the package files, as these are the ones you have to extract and take the longest to do!
Once you click on the link, you'll be redirected to a site such as MediaFire (don't worry, despite it's misleading appearances, there are no viruses or anything on this site!) or an Adfly redirection. When the download link has loaded, click on that and wait for the bar at the bottom to allow you to open the file, like so;
Wait for the download to complete and then open it up (if WinRAR is installed correctly it will do it for you) to see a window like this:
Click on the file type PACKAGE file, and select 'Extract To'
When you get to this window, go to My Documents/EA/TheSims3/Mods/Packages and click 'OK'!
If you have done everything correctly you should have all of your custom content in-game once you reload it!
Happy Simming!
